Matariki writing

Matariki Have you ever heard of Matariki? Well, Matariki is a special tradition that happens all over the world, it brings people together, and they celebrate what has happened over the past or things that will happen in the future. Its also the Maori New Year where it signals new beginnings and brings people together from all over the world. Some other things they do to celebrate Matariki is weaving, fly kites, hangi, kapa haka performances, games, story telling, and remembering the people who have passed away. Did you know that Matariki concludes more than 300 stars in the constellation, and most other people say that Matariki is the mother of her six daughters, and she is surrounded and loved by her six daughters in the sky, which are Tupu-a-nuku, Tupu-a-rangi, Waiti, Waita, and Waipuna rangi. Another thing people say that Ranginui and Papatuanuku, the earth mother were separated by the god of wind's, Tawhirimatea, Tawhirimatea became so angry that he tore his eye’s out, and threw them into the sky. One day if you’re outside during Winter time and you don’t know where the 7 sisters are in the sky, then maybe if you looked more in the eastern sky, that’s where they’ll be.
